Family of Army wife who died after ‘botched’ weight loss surgery reaches settlement

 Group of Armed force spouse who passed on after 'bungled' weight reduction medical procedure arrives at settlement

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - The group of an after lady weight reduction medical procedure at Tripler Armed force Clinical Center reported a $9.5 million dollar settlement.

Lawyers for the family depicted it as a "messed up" and a "catastrophe" that abandoned a spouse, their little kids, and the lady's mom.

They say 31-year-old Julie Bond, a Military spouse, needed to get thinner after pregnancy and was acknowledged into Tripler's Bariatric Medical procedure program.

She got the technique in November 2020 and kicked the bucket over a month after the fact.

Lawyers say the strategy prompted crisis medical procedure and left her in a state of unconsciousness. She got sepsis and kicked the bucket.

"It's one of the most limit, one of the most intense bariatric medical procedures that exists. The Tripler specialists, tragically, performed the medical procedure in reverse. They reattached Julie's small digestive system in reverse," said lawyer Loretta Sheehan.

"She was serious areas of strength for so brimming with life and it was the hardest thing that I've at any point needed to see was her terrible all of control that she had," said spouse Donald Bond.

The law office Davis, Levin, Livingston says this is their second legitimate settlement over Tripler's Bariatric Medical procedure program.

In 2015, the group of a Naval force spouse, Christina Mettias, got a settlement of more than $4 million after she passed on following a similar medical procedure.

That medical procedure is called Roux En Y. Lawyers called the digestive system removal outrageous and say it impairs the body's capacity to ingest nutrients and minerals it needs.
